The aqueduct, though aged, is surrounded by animal and vegetable life!
Actually, I believe it is a railroad bridge that was washed out by the Basento river at one point. And the animal life is desperately looking for shade as we all do in the summer! These are the “Chianina” cows that roam around with their bells clanging, (poor things, what diabolical tortures we invent for our animals) and make such great steaks eventually. They are so thin in the Spring that their bones are all visible!
